Maddy Grace & Colton James are Texas country’s rising sibling duo — Alvin-born, Houston-based, and the kind of act that turns a shared last name into a sound nobody else has.

Maddy Grace started crafting melodies almost as soon as she could talk. Inspired by Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, and Megan Moroney, she taught herself piano and wrote her first full song at 13. Now 17, her clear, mature vocals and story-driven lyrics carry a pop-country sensibility that’s entirely her own.

Colton James had his first guitar lesson at 7, but it wasn’t until he picked it back up at 10 that everything clicked. Drawing on John Mayer, James Taylor, and Aaron Watson, he was co-writing with Maddy by 11. Now 15, he moves between guitar, harmonica, and harmony with a natural ear that belies his age.

Together Maddy & Colton written more than 40 original songs — and 2026 has been their breakout year. Their debut duo single “He Rose,” co-written with Nashville’s Ryan “Uncle Ryano” Reynolds and produced by Bryan Austin, arrived in February. They were named 2026 Josie Music Awards Official Nominees for Best Country Duo, won the Old Settlers Music Festival Youth Talent Competition, and were selected from over 300 applicants for the Main Stage at FIFA Fan Fest Houston 2026. Add Bull 100.3 Houston airplay, Texas Country Music Association nominations, and performance coaching with Tom Jackson (Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes), and the trajectory is hard to miss.
